Osmosis Designers’ National Urban League Centennial Empowerment Exhibit

Osmosis Designers (Art-on-the Loose) and Maryland-based Vibrant Design group collaborated tocreate  the National Urban League Centennial Empowerment Exhibit which was unveiled on July 27, 2010, celebrating 100 years of empowering communities and changing lives. This dazzling interactive experience featured in October Communication Arts was inspired by the Urban League’s “I Am Empowered” initiative, was designed to promote a message individual empowerment, while reflecting on the historic impact of the National Urban League. Additionally, this provoking  exhibit was brought further to life with commissioned music and illustration, original photography and sophisticated design, the exhibit also features several touch-screen interactive, archival footage from the Civil Rights era, a vintage set design, a vibrant graffiti wall with a purpose, and a sixteen-screen state-of-the-art video wall.

The 4,000 square foot exhibit is a pertinent tribute to an organization that has lived it mission by serving the community for 100 years and remarkable reminder as it continues to dedicate itself into the 21st century. And, the great response to the centennial is a testament to work of Osmosis design professionals Lauren Lenoir, Taylor Lenoir, Lindrea Ross (associate designers); Marti Parham (writer), Mike Kelly (interactive designer), Vernon Lockhart (video/interactive director), and Keith Purvis (video producer) who continue to expand on excellent careers and blaze paths for upcoming designers.
